This past weekend I convinced my girlfriend Lindsay to let me take a few photos of her. I set up a roll of seamless paper in the garage and prepared some lights. A shower, dress and a few curlers later, Lindsay got to show off her fancy dress and I got to practice on my photography. It was a good trade. (I am choosing not to mention the deal that we made, where if I made breakfast she would be my model. I’m studiously not going to mention that.)
Oh snap, you got seamless. Looks great man. I’ve really put photography on the back burner with school actually challenging me again (and the whole brewing thing).
Glad to see you’re moving forward at full speed!
I love me some seamless. The only issue is the fact that it is… well… big and it is difficult to find places to set it up. Now maybe if I get a full blown studio some day….
Shoot – who needs a studio when you can make the garage look so nice! My favorite is the last one – Lyndsay looks like a Roman queen. So what did the queen get for breakfast?
Eggs and biscuits. Unfortunately I had eaten all of our bacon previously. But we made some mean coffee to wash it all down.
Very nice, Josh. What lenses did you use for these? It looks like you have a big garage and were able to put some distance between the two of you, technically speaking, of course!
Hey John. I’m glad to see you made it to my site. I used a 135mm lens on these. Our garage is a two-car garage, but instead of parking side by side, we park in line. There was barely enough room to set up the seamless and get the strobes in place; it just isn’t wide enough. But having two car lengths of distance really, really helps. Oh what I would give for a real studio!
Thanks for this useful article.
