Quite some time ago, during the balmy summer of 2010, local Austin violinist Omar Lopez contacted me to shoot some images for the cover and internal artwork of his soon-to-be released album, Mirrors and Memories. For obvious reasons, I did not want to post any sneak-peaks until the album was released.
When discussing how the images would look, we settled with cooler color tones and light coming in from behind, perhaps to represent contemplative and calm feelings.
I also wanted to include a shot or two with a clean, ubobstructed background where Omar could add copy text, perhaps the playlist or a short bio.
I had a great time shooting these images with Omar and it looks like there may be a second shoot to be scheduled soon for the next album. Stay tuned for more on that front.
